Gift wrapping DIY is for those of us who like to go a bit above and beyond with our gift packaging. We like to make things look custom. And we totally enjoy upcycling!
Here you’ll find inspiration for making unique gift packaging and solving unusual packaging needs. For example, I created a custom gift box for a stack of magazines. This was a gift for a friend stuck in the hospital. Gift wrapping DIY always helps me solve that type of challenge. See that post here http://makingitfabulous.com/diy-gift-box-ideas/
And you can upcycle the inner cardboard ring from a roll of packing tape. You simply combine it with cardboard, lace and twine to create a sweet little package for jewelry.
Gift wrapping DIY not only gets your creativity flowing but if it’s done well, it tells the gift recipient they are extra special to you. (But of course, use discretion.) After all, you don’t need to take a lot of time to make a custom package for someone who won’t even notice it, lol.
I save all ribbon pieces. Because bows made from mixed ribbons add a level of interest you can’t get from using just a single ribbon.
And I have an obsession for most things made of sturdy cardboard. With a bit of imagination, and a touch of decoupage your DIY gift box ideas rise to a whole new level.
Be sure to visit this section each time you need a custom package. I will be sharing several more posts in the weeks to come.
