Furniture DIY can help you update that piece of furniture that has maybe gone out of style. Or perhaps the style of your furniture piece is fine but you’d like a change.
You’ll find inspiration here for simple updates, like changing out chair legs. Although in my case, I couldn’t find tall enough replacement legs. So, you’ll see how I solved that challenge with some furniture DIY in this post http://makingitfabulous.com/replace-furniture-legs/
Looking to convert a storage chest into a lift-top coffee table, I got you! The secret is buying the right hydraulic hinges. I have a section (that tells you what to consider before ordering hinges) in this post

And my favorite of all furniture DIY is upcycling. Technically, upcycling is the idea of reusing discarded objects (or materials) in such a way as to create a product of higher quality or value than the original.
Reupholstery is a great example of upcycling. However, if you don’t sew, the key is finding pieces that you can reupholster with a staple gun and hot glue. If you need help in being able to tell the difference, please send me a comment on any of my posts or reach out to me at http://makingitfabulous.com/contact-me/
You can upcycle furniture by removing unwanted frilly details. Then hide your work with a fresh coat of paint or stain. Another form of upcycling is putting unexpected materials together. For example, I glued an old round tray to the top of a 30” tall candleholder. The result was a fantastic drink table that doesn’t take up too much room.
If you don’t find inspo for your particular project in this Furniture category, please contact me at http://makingitfabulous.com/contact-me/ I love to help. I can look at photos of what you have, sketch out some ideas for you and help you with your furniture DIY.
