Fashion DIY is all about giving you ideas for customizing and making things to fit your style, budget and your figure.
You’ll be amazed at how simple some of these fashion DIYS can be. Yet the impact on your style factor can go way up.
Clothing, accessories, shoes and jewelry are all good candidates for fashion DIY.
From clothing mergers (something I affectionately call Frankensewing) to simple metallic paint on your boots – all fun and imaginative ways to express your unique sense of style.
If you have minimal sewing skills like me, you can do some of these clothing mergers. I was able to dupe a Michael Kors moto jacket with fur sleeves! That post is coming soon.
And even if you don’t sew, I still have ideas for fashion DIY that only require a pair of scissors. For example, I converted some leather pants that were a bit too tight, into lightweight leather chaps. I simply cut out the seat and crotch then split the waistline in the back. Then I added a lace-up detail which gave me more room in the waistline.
In the accessories department, you can create cute fashion DIY by cutting a ball cap into a visor. Then hot gluing other elements to level up your visor.
Can’t find the right color shoes to match an outfit? Fashion DIY can solve that challenge too. I frequently custom-mix colors of metallic paint. Then paint shoes and boots in whatever color I need. The trick for me is finding suede shoes and boots because the paint won’t rub off.
